Welcome to Growing Together

Oct 14, 2023

Welcome!

Hi, I’m Leah, owner of Growing Together Counseling & Healing and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am happy you have made your way over to our blog! My hope is to provide content that gives you tips and information on mental health, relationships, holistic healing services, and the therapy process.  I first want to introduce you to who I am, and why Growing Together was built.

Throughout my life, I have enjoyed working with people one-on-one, learning their stories, and understanding their dreams of forging deep and meaningful connections with others. I used to say I “fell” into the world of therapy, but reflecting back (and with the guidance of my own therapists and teachers), I can now see that what led me to becoming a therapist was no coincidence. Like many in a helping profession, I was seeking a deeper understanding of myself, my relationships, and how to navigate my world with a greater sense of safety. My own healing journey built the foundation of compassion and care I hold for every client that steps into my office.

Early in my career, I worked with a variety of populations (children in residential treatment, incarcerated adults, and in-home family therapy) and modalities (family systems, trauma treatment, couples therapy). I left these experiences having learned how to create safety and rapport with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, treat PTSD symptoms, and understand how family systems influence our individual lives and mental health. Once I started working in outpatient mental health, I quickly realized that I would be looking to build my own practice someday.

Having a space that represented my personal and professional values has always felt important to me. The intention I brought into Growing Together was to provide our community a place of safety, hope, and nurturance through trauma informed treatment and holistic healing. It sought out to create a practice with a holistic focus and that offered a range of services other than mental health therapy. I believe we are capable of making the changes we desire, and that there are a number of ways for us to achieve these changes.

As Growing Together continues to expand, I am excited to bring on therapists who embrace the same high level of quality care for clients. When my schedule does not allow for new clients, having a trusted team of clinicians to whom I can refer them is such a relief!

I am excited to have built my practice in this community, and am looking forward to my team being able to support you on your path to growth!
